You are now in a situation where your Device isn’t compatible with this version. This is what errors look like on Google Play Store when downloading or updating an application or game.

This happens because, according to Google Play Store, the current version of your Android or the firmware cannot run that app on your smartphone, but it’s only sometimes valid. This article will tell you ten ways to fix your Device that isn’t compatible with this version on any Android smartphone.

I have tried this multiple times; even recently, for this particular article, I tried installing the latest WhatsApp version on a smartphone I bought in my school days. It was around 10 to 13 years back then.  

So for that particular smartphone Google Play Store marked apps and games as your Device isn’t compatible with this version, so here is how I overcame it and installed Whatsapp on it. You can apply the same things on any app or game you want to download, which your Device can do.

So without investing any more, let’s dive in. 

Immediate Follow This When Play Store Says, “Your Device is not compatible with this version”

Step 1: So one of the immediate steps is to go on any safe third-party app downloading, such as uptodown, or check out these safest apk downloading sites.

Step 2: Search for the desired application apk that you are looking for and download that app.

This way, you do not download the app but can install it.

Step 3: When the app is downloaded, Tap on the APK, and the option to install the app pops up a popup. Select install.

Step 4: And hurray now, and you can install the APK that wasn’t compatible with your Device on Google Play.

Moreover, when I checked YouTube, there was so much Misguidance available. They tell you to do what they need to do.

Because if you are an old device, it won’t support new apps, it’s expected.

NOTE: The abovementioned step will also work on Android 9.0 or above. Remember that if the Play store is not functioning correctly, it must be fixed.

When Your Device Is Running on Android 9.0 or Above

But if your Device is new or running on Android 9.0 or above, but you still face it, then there is an issue with the Google Play Store App. Here are five ways to ensure everything is alright with the Play Store.

1. Keep the App Updated

Open the Google Play Store app and check if it runs on its latest version. Here is how to do it:

If the Google Play Store is running on the latest version and it still shows the Device isn’t compatible with Android, you should try steps 3, 4, and 5. They would work best for you.

2. Clear Its Cache

Clear the cache data of the Google play store app; this is one of the crucial things you should do whenever you face this.

I had also faced the same issue on my Samsung m33 5G, a recently launched smartphone in 2022, but I still faced it while downloading Apex legend, so I got into my mobile settings and cleared all the cash data of the Google Play Store.

3. Sign out and sign in again

Often Times Google Play Store runs into bugs that cause these issues, so whenever you face it, sign out from your current Google account, clear the cashew data of Play Store, and then log back again into Google Play.

In that manner, you can install and download any app that the Play Store is currently incapable of downloading.

How to Do It

Here are the steps to sign out and sign back into the Play Store:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device.
  2. Tap on the three horizontal lines at the top-left corner of the screen to open the menu.
  3. Scroll down and tap on “Settings.”
  4. Scroll down and tap “Sign out” at the bottom of the page.
  5. Confirm that you want to sign out by tapping “OK.”
  6. Once you are signed out, you can sign back in by tapping “Sign in” on the Play Store app’s main screen.
  7. Enter your Google account credentials and tap “Next.”
  8. Follow the prompts to complete the sign-in process.

Note that signing out and signing back in may be necessary if you are experiencing issues with the Play Store, such as download errors or app compatibility issues.

4. Update Android OS

Try to update your device’s current version; most users keep displaying this, but in the end, they have to encounter these play store issues.

To deal with it right now is to make your device capable by updating your android os if available.

If the update is unavailable, there’s no alternate option to update Android without rooting, or can users install a Custom ROM on their device?

How to Install Custom ROM

  1. Research and choose a compatible custom ROM for your device.
  2. Back up your data and ROM using a custom recovery tool.
  3. Unlock your device’s bootloader.
  4. Flash the custom recovery tool onto your device.
  5. Use the custom recovery tool to wipe your device and install the custom ROM.
  6. Reboot your device and enjoy the new custom ROM.

5. Uninstall Play Store Updates
