To Turn On Disappearing Message: Open Whatsapp → Tap on any contact’s profile pic → Tap on the I icon → Tap on Disappearing messages → Set the time.
To Turn Off Disappearing Message: Open Whatsapp → Tap on any contact’s profile pic → Tap on the I icon → Tap on Disappearing messages → Select the Off.
To Enable Disappearing Messages
Step 1: Open Whatsapp
Open your Whatsapp application and Tap on any contact’s DP.
Step 2: Tap on the ‘i’ icon
Tap on the i icon.
Step 3: Tap on Disappearing Messages
Scroll down and Tap on Disappearing messages.
Step 4: Set the Time
Here you will get different time options like seven days, 24 hours, etc. Tap on any time as per your desire.
Step 5: Done
Go back, and WhatsApp will now use the disappearing message feature with that contact.
To Disable Disappearing Messages
This method allows you to disable disappearing messages from all contacts at once.
Step 1: Open Whatsapp
Open your Whatsapp Application and tap on the three dots at the top right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Tap on Settings
Tap on Settings options at last.
Step 3: Tap on Account
In the settings section, tap on the very first option: Account.
Step 4: Tap on Privacy
Here also, you have to tap on the first option: Privacy.
Step 5:Tap on Default Message Timer
Scroll down in the Privacy section and tap on Default Message Timer.
Step 6: Tap on Off
Tap on Off. It will disable disappearing messages from all chats.
Second Method To Enable Disappearing Messages For All Contacts
WhatsApp will apply the disappearing messages feature to all contacts by default. The first method we mention is suitable to apply this feature for a single or a group of contacts. But this method allows you to use this feature with all your contacts, including groups.
Step 1: Open Whatsapp
Open your Whatsapp Application and tap on the three dots at the top right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Tap on Settings
Tap on Settings options at last.
Step 3: Tap on Account
In the settings section, tap on the very first option: Account.
Step 4: Tap on Privacy
Here also, you have to tap on the first option: Privacy.
Step 5:Tap on Default Message Timer
Scroll down in the Privacy section and tap on Default Message Timer.
Step 6: Set the time
As you tap on Default Message Time, it will ask you different time frames like 24 hours, seven days, etc. Set any time option as per your wish.
Step 7: Go Back
Go back and see that WhatsApp will apply the disappearing feature to all your chats.
Easiest Way To Enable/Disable Disappearing Messages
As you enable disappearing messages on any chat, you will see a message on that chat stating you have turned on disappearing messages. If you want to disable it, tap on that message. It will take you to a new section where you have to tap on Off. Go back, and it will disable that feature. You can repeat the same process to enable that feature.
