WhatsApp will no longer work on these devices, back up chats like this

Will not be able to use WhatsApp Instant Messenger on Android below 4.1, iOS 10 or below, KaiOS 2.5.0 or below. The company has stopped WhatsApp support for devices running on older operating systems from November 1. If you are also on the old version and WhatsApp is not working on your device since last few days, then this news is for you.

WhatsApp has provided all the details of WhatsApp supporting devices on its FAQ section. According to Facebook-owned instant messenger, WhatsApp will now only work on smartphones or other devices running Android 4.1 or newer, iOS 10 or newer and KaiOS 2.5.0 or newer operating system. There are only two options available for users running on older OS.

Users running smartphones older than Android 4.1, iOS 10 older or KaiOS 2.5.0 older will either have to update their smartphone to the new version, or they must buy a new mobile phone. Support has been discontinued as of 1 November 2021.

You can back up your WhatsApp chats on iCloud and restore them on a new device with the steps mentioned below.

To manually back up your chats at any time, you’ll need to go to WhatsApp’s ‘Settings’ and tap ‘Chats’ there. After that tap on ‘Chat Backup’ and tap on ‘Back Up Now’.
